Warrington Rylands part company with Mark Duffy
Mark Duffy has been relieved of his duties as Warrington Rylands manager, just nine games into the new Northern Premier League season.
The decision comes following a difficult start for the Blues, who sit level with Matlock Town at the foot of the table with just one win and six points to their name.
All five of the club's league defeats have come by a single-goal margin, with their sole league win coming in August when a Jake Burton hat-trick helped them to a comfortable 3-0 win at Morpeth Town.
Warrington Rylands do, however, remain in the FA Cup, and will host National League North side Scarborough Athletic in the third qualifying round this coming Saturday.
Duffy only took permanent charge of the Blues back in May, having initially impressed on an interim basis alongside Dean Furman.
He only hung up his boots a few months prior, helping Macclesfield to promotion to the NPL's top division in 2022/23 before making the move into management.
His final game in charge came at home to Bamber Bridge, who ran out 2-1 winners last weekend.
Confirming Duffy's exit, a Warrington Rylands statement read: "The club today can confirm the departure of Mark Duffy as first team manager.
"We would like to thank Mark for all his work at the club both as a player and manager, and we wish him all the very best for the future."
