New manager unveiled for Coleshill Town
Coleshill Town have announced the appointment of former Lye Town boss Grant Joshua as their new manager.
Joshua stepped down from his role at former club Lye last month, having led a remarkable turnaround which saw the club climb from Step 6 to Step 4 football during his four years at the helm.
Promoted to the Northern Premier League ranks for the first time in club history in 2022/23, the Flyers performed admirably during their debut season at Step 4 and finished seventh, just five points adrift of the Pitching In NPL Midlands Division play-offs.
It was confirmed last month that Joshua would leave his former club at the end of the season, prior to their 2-1 home win over Cambridge City on the final day of the season.
He has now agreed to take over the reins at Coleshill, who finished 15th last season - eight places and 26 points below Joshua's former club.
Following his arrival at Pack Meadow, the newly-appointed Colemen boss was quick to lay out his ambitions for the season ahead.
"We have to improve, that's for sure. It's important that we build a team worthy of competing at this level," he said.
"That's the most important thing, and the chairman has got to back me and the staff to do that."
A six-game losing run at the end of the season saw Coleshill escape relegation by a slender margin, finishing three points above the drop zone.
Former manager Craig Nicholls resigned following a final-day 8-0 defeat at champions Spalding United on the final day, and the club have been quick to appoint his successor.
It has proven to be a straight managerial swap, with Nicholls unveiled as Lye's new manager last Thursday.
Joshua will be assisted by Chris Rabone and Ross Harris, with Jason Scott making up his backroom team as goalkeeper coach. The trio have all made the move from Lye following the conclusion of the 2023/24 season.
"We need to change the culture at the football club, that is evident. It's had a real struggle of the season, on and off the pitch," Joshua added.
"First thing for me is to change the energy and culture, then we can change the team. Another season like where the club finished [in 2023/24] isn't going to be good enough."
