Worksop welcome veteran forward
Worksop Town have confirmed the signing of 32-year-old forward Aaron Martin from National League North side South Shields.
Martin made 44 League Two appearances for Harrogate Town between 2020-22, scoring five goals.
Last season, he made 41 National League North appearances for the Mariners, scoring 11 times.
The former National League play-off and FA Trophy winner joins Craig Parry’s Tigers as they look to add more quality to an attack that scored 72 league goals last season.
On his move to Worksop, Martin said: "I'm finally happy to get the deal sorted. It's been in talks for a number of weeks now with Craig and Pete, so I'm just happy to get it sorted.
"I had a good chat with Craig Parry, he thinks that I'll be ideal for their system.
"I've known Pete a long time as well, and I know that he's been keen to get me here over the years.
"This moment just felt right [for me to join the club], and I'm here to get the team promoted."
On his new acquisition, Tigers boss Craig Parry said: "Aaron is a player that we've kept an eye on for quite a while.
"I've managed against him previously and he was a pain in my backside. He's strong, big, powerful and quick - just a proper striker.
"It's important that we were able to bring someone in this year who can work off of a big man, work off of someone else and look to run in behind with pace and power.
"I think that he's going to become a fan favourite, and personally I think that he'll fit in really well in the changing room because he's the ultimate professional."
