Warrington Rylands midfielder makes cross-town switch

Warrington Rylands midfielder Dana Amaral has made the move to the National League North after joining cross-town rivals Warrington Town.

The former Preston North End youngster had featured six times for the Blues this season, adding to the handful of appearances he made during a loan spell with the club in 2022/23.

Amaral, 21, becomes the Yellows' first permanent signing since former Nantwich Town boss Paul Carden returned for a second spell as manager last month.

“Dana is someone I’ve been aware of and watched for a while,” Carden said of his new recruit.

“He is a defensive-minded midfielder, which we don’t really have at the moment.

“I’ve watched him a few times and he’s done really well, and people have spoke highly of his character and potential.

“He was desperate to come in, which is always a big factor, and he wants to try and force his way into the team. He has the opportunity now to earn his place.”
