Stafford Rangers land new forward as top scorer suffers setback

Stafford Rangers have announced the signing of talented forward Callum Coyle.

During his career, Coyle has most notably enjoyed three successful seasons at Rushall Olympic, helping the Pics earn promotion to the National League North.

Following a loan period at Stratford Town last season, Coyle followed manager Liam Macdonald to Stourbridge over the summer.

However, after a seven-day notice of approach was submitted, the striker has returned to Stafford to bolster their options in the final third.

“I’m absolutely delighted to be coming back," he said.

"I’m looking to get the club back to where it belongs. I feel I’m a lot more experienced now.”

Stafford Rangers boss Dale Belford said: “He’s a great signing for us, who was previously with us as a young lad, but has now got some great experience playing at Step 3 and the National League.

"Obviously things didn’t work out for him at Stourbridge, [but] he’s a great lad and we're lucky to have him.”

The club have also confirmed that Kaiman Anderson has agreed to remain at Marston Road until at least the end of the season.

Anderson made over 100 appearances during a previous spell at Rangers before joining Walsall Wood over the summer.

Since re-joining, he has found the back of the net three times.

One player they will be without for forthcoming matches, however, is top scorer Dan Cockerline.

The forward suffered a dislocated shoulder during their recent 2-1 defeat at Chasetown and will now undergo further scans to determine the severity of the injury.
