National League youngster joins Quorn on dual-registration

Quorn have announced the signing of Zach McKenzie on a dual-registration basis with Tamworth.

The 18-year-old full-back began his career at Forest Green Rovers, where he made his professional debut at the age of 17.

During his time at the club, he enjoyed time out on loan for Stratford Town and Cribbs.

McKenzie joined Tamworth in the summer, playing in their U23 academy pathway.

He recently penned a first team contract with the National League outfit, and will join Quorn to further aid his development of senior level football.

On signing for the Reds, McKenzie said: "My coach at Tamworth suggested the idea of coming to Quorn to get more men’s football under my belt.

"After looking into the club, it looked like a great opportunity, the team is flying and I’m excited to prove myself at this level.

"I don’t know anyone at the club, but obviously Ryan [Beswick] was Captain at Tamworth and maintains a good relationship with the club, so I’ve heard good things about him and the way the side here play."

"It’s been a great start to the season, so I’m hoping to help the team continue to push for promotion.

“As an individual I’d like to work my way into playing as much as possible for the club and give a good account of myself every time I step on the pitch.”

McKenzie will go into contention to make his debut for Quorn in their next fixture at home to Grantham Town in the Northern Premier League East Division on Saturday.
