Blyth bring in Bond on season-long loan
Blyth Spartans have announced that goalkeeper Harrison Bond has joined the club on a season-long loan from National League side Gateshead.
Bond, 20, arrived at Gateshead from Sunderland at the beginning of the 2023/24 season, having made 24 appearances in the U18 Premier League for the Black Cats.
After a short loan spell at Whitley Bay at the start of the season, Bond made five appearances for Rob Elliot’s side, including three starts in their FA Trophy-winning campaign.
The new signing expressed his excitement on signing for Blyth, saying: “I’m really looking forward to coming in and getting started.
“It’s a club with a lot of history and expectation, which is something that I love.”
Goalkeeper coach Tom Reed said: “We are delighted to welcome Harrison to Croft Park. A lot of work behind the scenes has gone on to get this deal sorted.
"I’ve heard a lot of great things about Harrison and he’s a keeper I can’t wait to start working with. He’s had some great experiences but also seems so keen to learn and develop.
“After the 4/5 calls I’ve had with him, he seems very focused and looking forward to the season ahead, and more importantly he’s a great lad.
"That’s one thing I look for a lot in a goalkeeper, making sure they are the right person to bring in before their goalkeeping traits."
