Ashington appoint new manager
Nick Gray has been unveiled as the new manager of NPL East Division side Ashington.
The UEFA A-licensed coach brings a wealth of experience, most notably from the nine successful years he spent at Morpeth Town.
During his time there, Gray led the club from Northern League Division Two to the Northern Premier League's Premier Division.
His tenure also included significant cup success, with victories in the Northumberland Senior Cup in 2018/19 and, most notably, an FA Vase win at Wembley in 2016.
The club have been without a permanent manager since parting ways with Andy Coyles and Richie Hill at the start of September.
The pair lasted less than five months in the role, having taken over from the long-serving Ian Skinner in late April.
In the interim, the club has been led by Paul Robinson, Gary Ormston and Andrew Cartwright.
Following his appointment, Gray was quick to outline his ambitions for the Colliers moving forward.
"It would be easy to aim for consolidating our league position this season," he said.
"But given the kind of person I am, our target as a club should be to reach the play-offs."
He will take charge for the first time on Saturday when they welcome Stocksbridge Park Steels to Woodhorn Lane.
