Bradford Park Avenue strengthen in defence
Left-back Mason O'Malley has joined Bradford Park Avenue on a one-year deal, with the option of a further 12 months.
O'Malley, who has spent much of his career with Scunthorpe United, has already featured for the Green Army against Bradford City in a recent pre-season friendly.
The former Hunslet Boys youngster kick-started his career when he joined Huddersfield Town's academy at U14s level before moving to Scunthorpe following his release in 2019.
The defender initially featured for their U23s but went on to progress through the ranks and made his professional debut against Lincoln City in the EFL Trophy.
O'Malley signed a three-year extension with the Iron in December 2020 and has gone on to make 80 first team appearances.
At international level, he has represented the Republic of Ireland up to U21s level.
O'Malley isn't a total stranger to the Northern Premier League pyramid, having spent a month on loan at Ilkeston Town earlier this year.
“Mason is a great signing for the club," coach Danny King said.
"He looks solid in defensive areas but also has real quality in the attacking side of the pitch too.
“His experience playing at a higher level will definitely help the younger lads we have, and we can see him being a strong member of the squad for this season.”
