Young defends joins Blyth Spartans on loan
Blyth Spartans have signed young defender Louis Stephenson on a short term loan deal from National League side Hartlepool United.
The 18-year-old defender began his playing career at Pools and made his debut in an FA Cup Second Round victory over Harrogate Town in November 2022.
In December 2023, he scored his first senior goal during a 5-1 win in the FA Trophy away to City of Liverpool, and he made his league debut for the club against Oldham Athletic in the National League,
He went on to sign his first professional deal with the club at the end of last year.
Since his promotion to the first team, Stephenson has played 26 times for Hartlepool across all competitions, including the National League, FA Cup and FA Trophy.
He made his debut in Wednesday night's 3-0 league win at Stockton Town, helping Spartans to just their second league win of the season.
