Worksop welcome Bradford Park Avenue full-back
Worksop Town have announced the signing of Mason O'Malley from Bradford (Park Avenue).
The 23-year-old made 29 appearances for the Green Army last season, scoring once in a 4-1 victory over Ilkeston Town.
A former Huddersfield Town youth player, O'Malley joined Scunthorpe United upon his release from the Terriers in 2019, and made his professional debut with the Iron in an EFL Trophy fixture against Lincoln City the same year.
The young defender featured 80 times in total for Scunthorpe over the course of three seasons, before departing for the Horsfall Community Stadium before the beginning of the 2023/24 campaign.
O'Malley has also represented the Republic of Ireland internationally, playing in a U21s friendly against Wales in 2021.
On his new signing, Worksop Town manager Craig Parry said: "We’re pleased to bring Mason in within the squad, as we want to keep the squad balanced.
“The reason we’ve done that is we feel that Charlie (Winfield) needs game time so to support Charlie in his development we’ve agreed for him to go to Bridlington on a short-term loan.
"Mason brings a lot of experience to the group for a player who is relativity young, and he’s also another guy who has been with us all pre-season so we know what we’re getting, we know the ability he’s got and we know the fitness levels he’s got so we’re happy to bring Mason in."
