Whitby Town appoint new joint-managers

Whitby Town have announced the return of Lee Bullock as joint-manager alongside Jason Kennedy.

Bullock is a familiar and highly respected figure at the Towbar Express Stadium, with a long-standing association with the club as both a player and manager.

The club say his return will bring "added stability and continuity" moving into the final weeks of the season.

As a player, Bullock joined Whitby in July 2013 and quickly became a key figure on the pitch, before transitioning into coaching and management roles at the club.

After serving as assistant under Chris Hardy, Bullock was appointed joint-manager in 2020 alongside Nathan Haslam.

He resigned from the role in September 2022, having overseen a sustained period of development and commitment within the first team setup.

Since leaving the club, he has spent two years within Redcar Athletic's coaching team, helping the Steelmen to promotion last season.

Redcar also look well-placed to secure a second successive promotion, sitting seven points clear at the top of the NPL East Division having played two games fewer than their nearest rival, Matlock Town.

"The second the opportunity came around to come back, it was an easy decision," Bullock said.

"The majority of the lads I know, but even the ones I don't know personally, I've seen enough of when training at the same venue with Redcar.

"I'll give one hundred percent for as long as I'm back here. We've had some great times before, and we'll work hard to get good results and make people happy."

Joining Bullock as joint-manager is Kennedy, who arrived at the Seasiders back in October 2024 as assistant manager.

He was retained following previous boss Gary Liddle's move to National League side Hartlepool United over the weekend, and will now take on a new role following a restructuring of the Whitby management setup.

The club have confirmed that the pair will initially take charge until the end of the season.

Their first game in charge will come at home to Ashton United on Saturday, with the Seasiders currently four points clear of the relegation zone.
