Warrington Rylands take step closer to new stadium
Warrington Rylands have taken another key step towards building a new stadium after confirming they have secured land for the project.
Although the exact location has not yet been revealed, the Warrington Guardian have reported that a potential site for the new stadium is on Crab Lane in Padgate, close to the former University of Chester campus.
The Blues have played at their current home on Gorsey Lane since the club’s inception in 1906.
In a stadium released on Facebook, the club said: “This achievement represents an important step in the club’s ever-continued development and is the result of years of hard work, commitment and collaboration.
“As the club continues to grow both on and off the pitch, securing this site provides a platform to enhance our facilities, support our football ambitions and strengthen our contribution to the local community.”
For now, attention turns to the season ahead as Neil Reynolds’ side looks to go one better next season after losing on penalties to Hednesford Town in last month’s play-off final.
The 49-year-old signed a new three-year deal with the club the day after the final, committing his long-term future to the Blues.
