Transfer frenzy continues at Blyth Spartans

Blyth Spartans have signed French forward Cyril Giraud from NPL East Division side Bishop Auckland.

He becomes the sixth signing made by Spartans under recently-appointed manager Michael Connor and their new ownership group, led by local businessman Martin Trinder.

Giraud joined Bishop Auckland in September following a spell at Ashington.

Across the two clubs, he made 23 appearances in all competitions this term, scoring six times.

The 24-year-old first arrived in the north-east in 2019, leaving French third division side Chateauroux to study and join Newcastle Benfield.

He went on to enjoy spells at Thornaby, Consett and West Allotment Celtic before making the move to Ashington in June 2024.

Spartans are next in action away at league leaders Macclesfield on Saturday.
