“Given our recent form, we probably could have done with not losing the game, but I didn’t want to stop them,” he continued.

“Both teams just went for it. The football was brilliant and you felt that there was going to be a winner.

“It’s the first time we’ve come from behind to win, we don’t do it too often! So to have done it against the league leaders, who went ahead twice, it just makes that win even nicer.”

Tuesday’s win takes Witton up to 12th, but given their performances against some of the sides nearer the top, you’d be mistaken for thinking that they’d be battling up there themselves.

Convincing victories against Bury, Runcorn Linnets, Chasetown and Stalybridge Celtic have been the highlights of the campaign, alongside Tuesday night, and with games ahead against Avro, Vauxhall Motors and Bootle still to come, Witton have a real opportunity to dictate the race for the play-offs from the outside.

“We’ve taken 16 points from the top six, but then just five points from the bottom six. There’s just something we can’t put a finger on - honestly, how I’m not balding or greying this season, I don’t know,” Harrison joked.

“Our full focus is purely on Avro this weekend, but we go into it with confidence and nothing to fear.

“We know how tough it will be, but we know what we’re capable of.”
