Talented midfielder makes Hednesford Town move

Hednesford Town have announced the signing of Joe Doyle-Charles from Leamington.

The 29-year-old joined the National League North outfit in the summer from Coalville Town, making 15 appearances for the Brakes.

A former Burton Albion youngster, he joined Ilkeston Town upon his release from the Brewers in 2015, before joining Alfreton Town a year later.

The midfielder made the move to Matlock Town prior to the start of the 2016/17 campaign, and enjoyed two seasons with the Gladiators.

In 2018, Doyle-Charles joined Coalville Town, who he went on to spend six seasons with and captained them to memorable runs in FA competitions.

On his new signing, Hednesford Town manager Gavin Hurren said: "I’m excited to bring Joe to Hednesford Town.

"He was always one of my top targets, and securing his signature shows the direction we’re heading as a club. Joe is not just an exceptional player—he’s a leader, a winner, and someone who embodies the values and culture we’re building here. He’s here to complement the rest of the squad, help us win and move the club forward.

“I want to take this opportunity to thank Craig and Amanda, along with the board of directors, for their support in making this happen. This is a big signing for us and one that I’m sure will excite our supporters.”

Doyle-Charles will go into contention to make his debut for the Pitmen in their next fixture at home to Wythenshawe Town on Saturday in the Northern Premier League.
