Stocksbridge make exciting double signing

Stocksbridge Park Stells have completed the signing of striker Jack Watson and midfielder Luke Hogg ahead of their opening pre-season friendly.

Watson arrives from Rossington Main - Friday's opponents - having helped them become champions of the NCEL Division One last season.

Prior to his time at Oxford Street, the 21-year-old came through the Doncaster Rovers academy, where his goals helped their U18s come second in their division.

"The main reason why I signed was to be a part of the club's and help take the club to the next level," he said.

"I'm excited to get started."

Joining him at Bracken Moor is former Ossett United midfielder Hogg.

Hogg re-signed for the Sheepicorns last season after a successful loan spell, quickly become a key part of Grant Black’s side. The form showed during his opening stint at the club saw him secure a move to Northern Premier League side Whitby Town.

Hogg lists Guiseley, Doncaster Rovers, Frickley Athletic and North Ferriby United among his previous clubs, in addition to a brief loan spell he had at Stocksbridge back in 2018.

"I'm excited to be joining Stocksbridge," he said following the move.

"I'm really looking forward to the new season. Pre-season has been class with the management team and lads."

It has been a busy week for the Steels, who have also retained 13 members of last season's squad.

They begin their new campaign away at Stockton Town on Saturday 12 August.
