Stafford Rangers announce new management team and player signings

Stafford Rangers have appointed Dave Belford as their new first team manager, with Graham Deakin as the assistant manager, alongside the signings of Scott Wara and Ashley Fallon.

Belford takes over the reins from the departing Dave Cooke, who announced his resignation from the role following last weekend's 4-0 defeat at home to Widnes, which leaves them in 18th place.

He has been at the club since 2020, where he first became the assistant manager to Paul Davis.

Joining him in the dugout is Graham Deakin, who was most recently the assistant manager at Shifnal Town.

The 37-year-old brings further managerial experience to Boro from his time at Hednesford Town.

Stafford Rangers have also confirmed the signings of defender Scott Wara and Ashley Fallon.

Wara, 25, joined the Pesky Bulls prior to the start of the 2024/25 season, making seven appearances, but departed early on due to logistical issues related to travel.

Fallon will join the former Leek Town and Stalybridge Celtic centre-back at Marston Road from Darlaston Town.

The 20-year-old midfielder links back up with former assistant manager Graham Deakin, with the pair initially working together during their time at Shifnal Town.

Both players will go straight into contention for Boro's next trip to Bootle in the Northern Premier League West Division on Saturday.
