Shifnal Town announce shock exit of manager Connor Patterson
Shifnal Town have announced that manager Connor Patterson has left the club.
Patterson joined the club in May 2023 and led them to promotion to Step 4 during the 2024/25 campaign.
They finished 12th in the NPL West Division last season, and find themselves fifth in the table at the time of Patterson's departure.
Patterson informed club chairman Mike Tranter of his decision to leave on Thursday night, meaning he was absent from the dugout during Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Lower Breck.
It has since been confirmed that Patterson has taken charge at NWCFL First Division South side Dawley Town.
A number of Shifnal's players have also followed Patterson to Dawley, with goalkeeper Andy Wycherley and midfielders Cian Fenlon and Jack Hodnett all in their squad for Saturday's 1-1 draw against Stafford Town.
Shifnal say they are now welcoming applications for a new manager after Patterson's departure.
They are next in action on Tuesday night away at Vauxhall Motors, with club captain Kyle Bennett placed in interim charge for that fixture.
