Sam Hodgson heads back to Morpeth on loan
Morpeth Town have confirmed the arrival of 22-year-old frontman Sam Hodgson on a season-long loan from National League North side South Shields.
This will mark the second straight season that Hodgson will spend at Craik Park, after making 42 appearances for the Highwaymen during the 2023/24 season.
He placed sixth in the NPL goalscoring charts last campaign with 18, and was the top scorer for a Morpeth side that netted 76 goals, the most outside of the top three in the division.
He scored 20 in all competitions, including nine in the final ten games, and a hat-trick in Morpeth’s final day 6-0 win over Stafford Rangers.
Morpeth begin their season at home against FC United of Manchester, a fixture that Hodgson netted a brace in last season, on August 10.
