Robins welcome back Robbins
Ashton United have announced that Joe Robbins has returned to the club ahead of the 2023/24 season.
The 21-year-old midfielder initially joined the club in September and made 18 appearances, before joining Bamber Bridge in December, featuring 19 times for the Brig, with his last outing being a 2-1 defeat to Ashton United.
A former Crewe youngster, Robbins has also featured for the likes of Altrincham and Nantwich Town.
During his time at the Robins last season, he was primarily utilised on the left side of the midfield, however, manager Steve Cunningham has other plans for him for the upcoming season.
“Joe is the controlling number 6 we have been looking for,” Cunningham said.
“We identified Joe from the last game of the season after his display against us for Bamber Bridge, he had said he has unfinished business at Ashton which he wants to put right.”
