Robbie Savage appointed Macclesfield Head Coach
Macclesfield have confirmed that Robbie Savage has been appointed First Team head coach for the upcoming 2024/25 season.
Savage takes over from Michael Clegg, who left the club by mutual consent on June 17.
This will be the Welshman’s first head coaching role. The club have stated that he will now be judged solely on results.
Peter Band returned to the club as Savage’s assistant manager after spending three seasons as the Silkmen’s first team coach before departing in May.
Additionally, Emile Heskey has been given a position-specific role when required.
Savage’s first game in management will come on July 13, when his side takes on Blackburn Rovers in a pre-season friendly at the Leasing.com Stadium.
