Radcliffe emphatically join NPL contingent in fourth round of FA Trophy
A blistering performance ensured that Radcliffe booked their place in the fourth round of the FA Trophy with a 4-0 win over Redditch United.
Much like their victory over National League North side Farsley Celtic in the second round, the current Northern Premier League frontrunners made a blitzing start to proceedings when Jamie Morgan tapped home a rebound after just four minutes.
The former Nantwich Town right-back grabbed his second of the game 30 minutes later, and the problems only escalated for their Southern Premier Central counterparts when Redditch's top goal scorer Alex Cameron was sent off on the stroke of half time.
Boro piled the pressure on the visitors and they were rewarded with two late goals from Luca Navarro and Jordan Hulme which sealed the victory and took them a step closer to Wembley.
Radcliffe will welcome National League side Barnet FC to the Neuven Stadium in the FA Trophy fourth round on Saturday 13 January.
They become the third Northern Premier League club to progress into this stage of the competition, following Macclesfield’s 2-0 victory over Curzon Ashton and Nantwich Town’s historic 3-2 win against York City at the weekend.
Alex Bruce’s side will host Dorking Wanderers while the Dabbers will travel to face Solihull Moors in the next round.
NPL Midlands side Walsall Wood will have to wait to put their name in the hat after their clash against Coalville Town was postponed once again due to poor weather conditions.
Should they book their place in round four following next Tuesday’s rescheduled fixture, they will make the journey to Bath City.
