Quorn snap up 16-year-old prospect
Quorn have announced the signing of youngster Josh Allen ahead of the 2024/25 season.
Allen began his career at Coalville Town after having trials with Derby County and Peterborough United.
During his time in the Ravens' youth system, the youngster played in the Midland Junior Premier League and Leicestershire Midweek Floodlit Youth League, playing a year above his age.
Upon turning 16 years old in November, Allen made the decision to test his mettle in adult football, signing for Mountsorrel Amateurs where he scored a staggering 74 goals over the course of a season.
Now, he will further challenge himself by stepping up with Quorn, a prospect which excites the young forward.
"I came to preseason trials with Quorn just to get some experience of players at that level and to see what feedback I would get," Allen said.
"Having watched some games last season, I was really impressed with the way Quorn played.
"Signing for the Reds is amazing. The fact that Bez and the management team have that faith in me is a great feeling.
"I am hoping I can start to get some first-team minutes then cement my place. I have great self-belief and I think I will be an asset to the team hopefully playing a part in getting promoted.
"My time with Quorn so far has been brilliant, everyone at the club has been great with me. The manager and the lads have treated me as an equal.
"Coming on against Alvechurch and nearly scoring against Nuneaton was a great buzz, I can’t wait to hear my name and not trialist over the PA."
