City of Liverpool have announced the signing of FC United of Manchester forward Elliot Morris.

The 25-year-old will be a familiar name to Purps supporters, having shone for neighbours Skelmersdale United in the Pitching In NPL West Division last season.

Morris had a stunning campaign, bagging 17 goals and finishing joint-second in the league's goalscoring charts.

He was also named in the NPL West Division Team of the Season before swapping Skelmersdale for FC United over the summer.

However, he has failed to replicate his goal-scoring achievements, scoring just once in 18 appearances for the Reds.

He has subsequently joined the Purps and will link up again with manager Paul McNally, who coached Morris during their time together at Skelmersdale.

"Elliot fits our profile and the identity of our club, so when a player of his ability becomes available we moved very quickly to get him signed," McNally said.

“We are all excited to work with Elliot again, as he is not just a fantastic talent, but a great lad who will settle in and add more quality into the group we already have here at the club."
