Prescot Pirlo' agrees new Cables deal

Prescot Cables have announced that talented young midfielder Tony Donaldson has committed his immediate future to the club.

Donaldson has agreed a one-year deal, keeping him at the Pesky Bulls until at least the end of the 2023/24 season.

He becomes the third player to sign a long-term deal with the club this summer, following in the footsteps of goalkeeper Mitchell Allen and midfielder Jack Goodwin.

Donaldson scored three goals for the club last season following his arrival on a short-term deal in February.

The midfielder has continued to shine in pre-season, scoring a hat-trick in the club's recent 6-0 friendly win against a Tranmere Rovers XI.

“I’m buzzing to commit for the season," he said.

"The lads and the fans have made me feel so welcome since I joined. The lads helped me settle in at the club when I first joined.

"The coaching staff too have been a big influence on me. There's so much positivity about the club.”

Manager Ste Daley said: “I’m really pleased we were able to get this done and dusted so quickly ahead of the season.

"When I got the job, Tony was a player who I wanted as soon as possible. He lights up the pitch every time he plays and he’s fundamental to how we want to play going forward.”
