Prescot Cables unveil new management team

Prescot Cables have announced that David Dempsey will take up the reins as manager for the 2024/25 season.

Joining him at the Joseph Russel Stadium is his assistant coach Chris Stammers.

The pair will fill the void left vacant by the departures of Steven Daly and Peter Cumiskey.

They were most recently in charge of Burscough, helping them to secure safety in the North West Counties Football League.

Prior to this, Dempsey and Stammers have managed at Widnes and Clitheroe, securing a 3rd place finish in the 2022/23 season with the latter.

Alongside this, Dempsey is a former Cables player and enjoyed a four-year spell at the club.

On his new role, Dempsey said: "I'm immensely proud to manage
Prescot Cables.

"It’s a role I’ve always wanted and when given the opportunity I couldn’t say no.

"[There are] big shoes to fill after the achievements last season and work to do but we will work hard to get it right for the club, the players and the fans."
