Ossett add firepower up front
Ossett United have announced the signing of striker Aaron Dwyer from Stalybridge Celtic.
The 28-year-old scored 18 goals in 31 appearances for the Tameside-based club last season.
A former Bury AFC, Stockport Town and Curzon Ashton player, Dwyer played a key role in Macclesfield's 2021/22 North West Counties Football League title winning season.
Now, the talisman links back up with his former manager Dave Wild at Ossett United, with the pair initially working together at Mossley.
On his new acquistion, Wild said: "To say I'm delighted with the arrival of Aaron would be the understatement of the season so far.
"As an attacking force, we've desperately required direct and powerful energy, which Aaron has in abundance. Coupled with this, his ruthless eye for goal and determination to single handedly dominate games will guarantee him to be an immediate fan favourite.
“Having managed Aaron at previous clubs, I've absolutely no doubt he will ignite our progress on the pitch.”
Dwyer will go into contention to make his debut for the Sheepicorns in their next clash at home against Belper Town in the Northern Premier League.
