NPL round-up | Saturday 14 September

Just two matches took place in the Northern Premier League's top division, with crucial wins picked up at both ends of the division.

The lack of league action was due to FA Cup second qualifying round involvement for many sides in the division.
At the foot of the table, Matlock Town picked up their first league win of the season after coming from behind to defeat Workington 2-1.
Despite playing over an hour with 10 men following Sam Essien's sending-off, and trailing 1-0 at half-time after David Symington's 38th minute opener, the Gladiators fought back with two goals in seven second half minutes.
Curtis Durose levelled the scores on 66 minutes with a fine solo goal, then Charlie Oglesby's flicked header completed the turnaround.
Matlock remain a point adrift at the bottom of the division but have renewed confidence ahead of Tuesday's trip to Ashton United.
Ashton were the other side in the division to collect maximum points on Saturday, overcoming Whitby Town 2-1 on the Yorkshire Coast.
Darius Osei opened the scoring inside 60 seconds, but the Robins' lead didn't last long as Stephen Walker equalised from the penalty spot three minutes later.
The decisive blow was struck shortly before the hour mark, Osei again the man to provide it.
His bullet header was too much for Seasiders goalkeeper Shane Bland, and the visitors did enough to see out the win and climb into the play-off places.
