NPL preview | Saturday 26 October
Just three games take place in the Northern Premier League's top division this weekend, as other sides venture into FA Trophy action.
The weekend’s featured game sees two sides on the periphery of the top five go head-to-head as Lancaster City host Hyde United.
Hyde missed out on the chance to move into a play-off position in midweek after a 93rd minute winner from Tom Cursons saw Ilkeston Town take all three points in a 3-2 classic at the New Manor Ground.
The Dolly Blues, meanwhile, will be aiming to put an end to their current run of successive league draws by picking up three points that would see them leapfrog the Tigers and edge further up the division.
Elsewhere, Ilkeston will be looking to ride the wave of momentum from Tuesday’s late win when they travel to Prescot Cables.
Ste Daley’s side have had a full week to recover from last Saturday’s home loss to Morpeth Town. They go into this one knowing a win would see them move back into the top half of the division.
Third-placed Hebburn Town will have their eyes on fellow high-flyers Worksop Town when they visit Leek Town.
Last season’s NPL West Division champions have struggled at home this season, picking up just three points from 21 available at Harrison Park.
The Hornets will be coming into this one in good spirits following an away win at Worksop Town a week ago, but they will need to be wary of another potential upset coming against them, with all four of their league defeats this season coming against sides in the bottom half.
All games are set to kick off at 3pm, unless otherwise stated.
