New man between the sticks for AFC Rushden & Diamonds
AFC Rushden & Diamonds have announced the signing of goalkeeper Regan Saunt for the 2023/24 season.
Saunt, 21, was a part of the Diamonds' Moulton Scholarship Programme, and has decided to take up an opportunity with the club following the completion of his studies.
Alongside this, the young goalkeeper has enjoyed spells at Langford in the Southern Midlands Division One, and more recently, United Counties Premier Division South outfit Histon.
On the new signing, AFC Rushden & Diamonds manager Chris Nunn said: "I’ve enjoyed working with Regan during pre-season. He’s a good lad which we know is important and he’s bought into the environment we are creating here.
"I think we’ve got two really good goalkeeping options at the club now and excellent competition for places both in this position and across the pitch.
"It’s a headache for me but I’d much rather have these decisions to make than have the starting eleven pick itself."
