New goalkeeper for Marske United
Marske United have announced the arrival of former Newcastle United goalkeeper Nathan Harker.
Standing at 6'4, Harker started his career at Newcastle's academy and has also played for Scarborough Athletic and Bedlington Terriers before joining Whickham.
During his time at the Magpies, Harker had the chance to work under Rafa Benitez and found himself called up to the senior side as he took his place on the bench against Blackburn Rovers in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup.
After being released by the Premier League side 16 months later, Harker had trial spells with Burnley, Hartlepool, Hull, and Sunderland before finding his feet in non-league football.
Seasiders manager Carl Jarrett said: "Nathan is a top keeper who will be vital to our run-in. He's a great lad as well, which is important around the club.
"I'm really looking forward to working with him after coming highly recommended."
