New faces in at Bamber Bridge
Bamber Bridge have announced their two latest signings as preparations continue ahead of the 2023/24 Northern Premier League season.
Highly-rated attacking midfielder Mackenzie O'Neill has joined the club after impressing for 1874 Northwich over the last two seasons.
He started his career in the Wigan Athletic academy and has also represented Northern Ireland at U17s level.
“I’m really pleased to sign for Bamber Bridge and can’t wait to get going," O'Neill said.
"When I met the manager and he explained the vision he has, the playing style and what the club is about, it was an easy decision to join."
Also making the move to the Sir Tom Finney Stadium is former Chorley defender Matt Challoner.
He made 199 appearances over two spells for his previous club and was part of their 2019 National League North play-off-winning side.
Challoner has also featured for Southport and Boston United, and will combine his playing duties with a first team strength and conditioning role with Premier League side Burnley.
On signing for the club, he said: “I’m really pleased to sign for the club. I know the assistant manager John Hills really well from Blackpool and Southport.
"When he called and sold the club, it was a no-brainer to join and allow me to balance playing with my role at Burnley.
"I can’t wait to get started now. We are building a really exciting and hungry squad for the upcoming season and want to go one better.
"It’s an exciting time to join the club, and I hope we can be exciting to watch and be challenging again.”
