New duo arrive at Shepshed Dynamo
Shepshed Dynamo have announced the signing of goalkeeper Alex Akers from Matlock Town and midfielder Liam Merrick.
The 20-year-old shot-stopper is a former Nottingham Forest Academy player who joined the Gladiators following his release from the Premier League outfit in September 2023.
He linked up with the Dynamo earlier this month, featuring in their first two pre-season fixtures, and now joins the club for the 2024/25 season.
Joining him at the Dovecote next season is Liam Merrick.
Merrick, 25, was most recently plying his trade at Coventry United where he featured 23 times as their captain.
The Australian-born midfielder began his UK football career at United Counties Football League side Peterborough Northern Star, before joining Rothwell Corinthians.
Like Akers, he has played in both of Shepshed Dynamoes' pre-season fixtures and has committed his immediate future to the club.
