Neil Reynolds lays down the gauntlet to Rylands side after being outworked in Prescot Cables defeat

Warrington Rylands manager Neil Reynolds has challenged his side to return to their hard-working style this Saturday against Hyde United, after being well-beaten in midweek against Prescot Cables.
Cables ran out 3-0 victors at the Auto Safety Centre on Tuesday night thanks to goals from John Murphy, Charley Doyle and Tony Donaldson in the opening hour.
In the end, it was a routine win for the side battling near the bottom against the promotion-hopefuls, and Reynolds credited it to the physical dominance of Steven Daley’s side.
“You can’t come here and give less than 200%, because you’re going to be on the wrong end of the result,” the Rylands boss said post-match.
“Tonight, we were beaten by a Prescot Cables side who were hungrier than us, who ran more than us, who physically outwitted us and scored three more goals than us.
The defeat against Prescot was the second consecutive for Rylands, who are still in the play-offs, but missed out on a chance to extend the points gap between themselves and neighbours Warrington Town in their game in hand.
Next, Rylands travel to Hyde United, who are on an 11-game winless run, but have since announced former Macclesfield and Atherton Collieries boss Michael Clegg as their new manager.
Neil Reynolds knows that the relegation zone-dwelling Tigers will be up for it, and has challenged his side to match that intensity on Saturday.
“Hyde away, manager’s first game, they’ll raise their game and the fans will be up for it. So, what do we do?” Reynolds questioned.
“Do we roll over and give more of that tonight? Or do we show what we’ve given for 95% of the season, which is effort, desire, courage, determination, togethernes and quality on and off the pitch? Because that hasn’t escaped us, we’ve just lost it for the last 72 hours.
“It’s a case of getting back together and doing what we do, because that group in there have got us to 4th in the league, and if they want to stay there, we’ve got to be better than what we were tonight.
“My Job is to pick up that group, who I think the world of, and bounce back and try and right the wrongs on Saturday.”
