Mickleover bolster backline with new duo
Mickleover have announced the signings of defensive pair Stefan Galinski and Kieran Brown.
Galinski, 30, returns to Step 3 football after over two years, with his most recent stint at Gainsborough Trinity ending in July 2022.
The Poland Under-18 international began his career at Derby County in 2012, before moving on to Stoke City a year later.
Following his release from the Potters, the centre-back joined Boston United and enjoyed a two-year spell with the club before departing to Stalybridge Celtic.
He gained further experience from his time at Alfreton Town, Grantham Town, Hednesford Town and Basford United, playing for four seasons at the latter club.
On the acquisition of Galinski, Mickleover manager Gareth Holmes said: "Stefan is a really important signing.
“He is an excellent communicator and will provide us with additional physicality and leadership. He has a wealth of experience at this level and leagues above, and he's a really positive character.”
Joining him at the Don Amott Arena is Kieran Brown, who makes a loan move from Notts County.
The 19-year-old right-back made the move to Meadow Lane in July 2023, after starting out at Racing Club Warwick.
Despite still being in the very early stages of his career, the youngster has already appeared on the international stage for Saint Kitts and Nevis, featuring twice in friendlies against San Marino in March this year.
Speaking about the signing of Brown, Holmes said: "Kieran is very well thought of at Notts County. He can cover a few different positions and excels in 1v1 situations.
“He brings lots of pace and power to the group and the ability to carry the ball well. I would like to thank Notts County for allowing Kieran to join us on loan.”
The pair made their debut for Mickleover in their 2-0 defeat away at Matlock Town on Saturday in the Northern Premier League.
