Michael Clegg appointed new Hyde United boss

Hyde United have announced the appointment of former Atherton Collieries boss Michael Clegg as their new manager.
Clegg replaces Martin Coyne, who resigned from the position after less than four months in permanent charge following Saturday's 2-1 home defeat against Rushall Olympic.
Clegg's appointment comes less than a month since he stepped down from his role at NPL West Division side Atherton due to work and family commitments.
During his two spells in charge of Colls, Clegg oversaw more than 350 games.
Having enjoyed three promotions in five seasons during his first stint at the helm, Clegg went on to manage Ashton United, Warrington Rylands and Macclesfield.
He returned to the Dreams2Reality Stadium in August 2024 and led the club to NPL West Division safety after a difficult start to the season.
However, he made the decision to leave the club just days after a 3-0 Boxing Day win at home to Wythenshawe Town, with Danny Lafferty announced as his successor shortly after.
Clegg joins a Hyde side struggling at the wrong end of the Northern Premier League table, having dropped into the relegation zone last weekend.
He will take charge of the club for the first time on Tuesday night away at Gainsborough Trinity.
