Marske appoint ex Hartlepool boss as new manager

Marske United have announced the appointment of Graeme Lee as their new manager ahead of the 2023-24 season.

Lee replaces Carl Jarrett in the role. Jarrett left the club at the end of last season after securing the Seasiders’ safety in the Premier Division.

As a player, Lee played in the Football League with Hartlepool United, Doncaster Rovers and Sheffield Wednesday.

He started his coaching career with Middlesbrough, coaching their academy sides up to under-23.

After that, Lee took charge of Hartlepool in League Two, and led them to a midtable finish. In that season, the Pools also reached the fourth round of the FA Cup, where they were knocked out against Crystal Palace, and also got to the semi-finals of the EFL Trophy, where they were knocked out on penalties by Rotherham United.

“I have had a bit of time off the football scene since leaving Hartlepool, time with the family, time to reflect,” he said.

“But I’ve had chats with Mark (Harkin) and Craig (Gibbin) at the club.

“It just excites me to get back involved in football at a club where they want to be part of the community, come forward, and I want to be part of something like that.”
