Marine land impressive new midfielder
Marine have announced the signing of former Southport, AFC Fylde and AFC Telford United midfielder Liam Nolan.
The 28-year-old brings plenty of experience to the Marine ranks, having played in the Football League, National League and National League North.
He began his career with Crewe Alexandra having left Everton’s youth setup. He made 26 EFL appearances for the Gresty Road club before a move to Southport in 2015.
Two successful years with the Sandgrounders earned him a move back in to the EFL with Accrington Stanley, followed by a stint at FC Halifax Town in 2019.
He joined AFC Fylde in 2020 before signing for AFC Telford on a permanent basis in summer 2022.
Manager Neil Young said: “I didn’t think Liam was going to be possible as I know there were National North teams interested.
"Once we realised there was a possibility of him joining us, I met him and we concluded the deal quickly, with Liam very keen to join us.
"He is an excellent ball-playing midfielder with lots of experience, and will improve us greatly in that area."
