Macclesfield unveil third summer signing
Former AFC Fylde midfielder Danny Whitehead has joined Northern Premier League side Macclesfield.
He becomes the third arrival of the summer for a Silkmen outfit that will once again be hunting promotion in 2024/25 after falling to a 2-1 defeat to Marine in last season's play-off final.
Whitehead is no stranger to the Leasing.com Stadium, having helped Macclesfield secure promotion from the National League in 2017/18.
He was also part of their run to the FA Trophy final in 2017 and helped preserve their League 2 survival in 2019/20.
The midfielder boasts a wealth of Football League and National League experience, including 40 appearances for AFC Fylde last season as they finished 18th in the National League.
Michael Clegg's Macclesfield have been quick to confirm their summer transfer business, with the arrival of former Chester midfielder Elliott Whitehouse and Chorley winger Justin Johnson already confirmed.
The club say two further signings - a goalkeeper and striker - will be announced in the coming days.
