Macclesfield bring in ex-Chester midfielder
Macclesfield's summer recruitment has continued with the impressive signing of former Chester midfielder Elliott Whitehouse.
The experienced Whitehouse, 30, left the National League North side following the conclusion of the 2023/24 season.
The midfielder scored nine times in 40 appearances for the Blues as they secured a top-half finish last term.
Whitehouse boasts a number of spells in the Football League, most notably at Lincoln City where he made over 60 appearances for the Imps.
In 2016, the former Scunthorpe United and Spennymoor Town midfielder received a call-up for England C - a team made up entirely by players outside of the Football League.
He marked his international call-up in style, scoring against Estonia in a 2-1 win which saw the Three Lions reach the International Challenge Trophy final.
Whitehouse's arrival at the Leasing.com Stadium comes days after the signing of Chorley winger Justin Johnson.
Silkmen director of football recently took to social media to confirm that the club had landed five transfer targets, three of which are expected to be announced later in the week.
