Lower Breck star earns full-time opportunity
Lower Breck forward Alex Cherera has completed a move to National League North side Morecambe.
Cherera has joined the Shrimps for an undisclosed fee, signing a two-year deal with the club.
The transfer also marks the first time that Lower Breck have received a fee for one of their players.
Cherera made 50 appearances for Breck, scoring 21 goals and adding 10 assists during that time.
The 21-year-old played a starring role in the club's successful first-ever season at Step 4, which culminated in a play-off finish in the NPL West Division.
Such form saw Cherera receive the NPL Rising Star award at June's annual awards dinner in Blackpool.
He will now have the opportunity to play full-time football with a Morecambe side that are currently 10th in the National League North.
On Cherera's departure, Lower Breck club secretary Jim Davies said: "Lower Breck FC are delighted to see another player they have helped develop enter the full-time ranks as a professional."
"Having worked with Alex since he joined the club, we now wish him well as he joins a club with a rich history.
