Linnets return for Morecambe youngster
Runcorn Linnets have announced the return of attacking midfielder Cameron Rooney on a short-term work experience loan which will run until January 11.
Rooney, who will turn 19 just after Christmas, spent time with Linnets last season, making a total of 14 appearances.
He scored twice during that time and also featured for the club in the Pitching In NPL West Division semi-final and final, starting the latter.
He returned to his parent club at the end of the 2022/23 campaign and has since featured for the Shrimps in competitive action, scoring on his debut against Barrow in the EFL Trophy back in October.
Morecambe manager Ged Brannan said: "This is a really exciting opportunity for Cameron, who has continued to impress on a consistent basis.
"He's been in and around the first team environment for a good few months now, and this opportunity will give Cameron the chance to play men's first team football, which is vital for the development of any young player."
