John Howard makes return to Bishop Auckland from National League North side
Bishop Auckland have announced that John Howard has returned to the club after signing from Spennymoor Town for an undisclosed fee.
The 23-year-old was an integral part of the Bishops side that won promotion to the NPL East Division last season, earning him a move to the National League North side.
However, whilst at Spennymoor, Howard only managed two appearances in the club’s opening eight games and was an unused substitute in the other six.
The midfielder expressed his desire to play more regular football, and has now secured a move back to his former side.
Spennymoor manager Graeme Lee said: “John has become used to being in the starting eleven week in, week out.
“He spoke to me a week or two ago about his desire to be playing more regularly after not being featured in the first four games, and he underlined his unhappiness about being on the bench for us.
“Throughout his time at the club, he has shown a great attitude so he leaves with our best wishes, and I’m sure he can go back and be a great success.”
Howard could be in contention for his second debut for Bishop Auckland when they host Bridlington Town on September 14.
