Hyde United promote trio to first team
Hyde United have announced that three youngsters from their academy have signed first team contracts.
The youngsters, Reece Mellor, Alex Pritchard and Joe Hatch are the latest Tigers youth players to be called up to first team duties.
Mellor and Pritchard started their career in Hyde United's junior setup, while Hatch joined later on at the academy level.
All three played a vital role in Hyde United's recent victory over Marine in the FA Youth Cup.
On the news, Tigers manager Nick Spooner said: "In signing these three lads, it shows the pathway from the juniors through to the first team.
"The club has worked hard over the last few years to establish the pathway and this is a great example to all that hard work pays.
"I came to watch the FA Youth Cup last week and was very impressed with the whole team.
"Three lads in particular really impressed me so I invited them in to train with us this week.
"Reece, Alex & Joe all looked at home with us and really impressed during both sessions.
"Reece & Alex have come through the junior system with Joe entering the club via the academy.
"Seeing both Reece & Alex’s journey starting at the juniors gives us great pleasure as this shows what hard work can help you achieve.
"It's a great message for all the junior & academy members at the club and a great showcase of the pathway that has been created at the club from U6 through to first team."
