Hanley reinforce backline with experienced defender

Hanley Town have announced the signing of centre-back Lewis Strafford from Hellenic Football League side Pershore Town.

Strafford, 31, joined the Worcestershire Step 5 outfit before the start of the 2024/25 season.

A veteran defender, he has previously played for the likes of Banbury United, South Shields, Ashington and Aylesbury, as well as enjoying a stint in Sweden with Ope IF.

He will go into contention to make his debut for Carl Dickinson's side when they host Runcorn Linnets in the Northern Premier League on Tuesday evening.
