Guiseley part ways with manager Phillips

Guiseley have parted company with manager Paul Phillips by mutual consent.

The NPL Premier Division club announced that his contract had been ended following 10 months in charge.

A club statement said: “Much consideration has been given over the last few weeks about our current position and how we want to move forward as a club. Taking into account results and performances both this season and towards the end of 22/23 the Board and Paul agreed that a change of direction was needed.

“Paul came to Guiseley with the club in a precarious league position and quickly turned results around to steer us away from a potential relegation battle, whilst we flirted with the play off positions for a while a difficult run of results towards the end of the season led to us finishing in a comfortable 13th position.

“We would like to thank Paul, Kayde, and their team for their efforts whilst with the club and wish them the best for their future careers.

“Liam Tongue will take caretaker charge of the team, assisted by Martin Foster and Goalkeeping coach Kyle O’Reilly whilst we invite and interview applicants for the permanent role.

“Applications should be sent via email to [email protected] before 12pm on Friday 22nd September. All applications will be treated in confidence and interviews may be offered at the earliest convenience.”
