Grantham confirm departure of midfielder

Grantham Town have confirmed that midfielder Elliott Durrell has left the club following the expiration of his contract.

Durrell signed for the club last year from National League North side Telford United. He made 25 appearances for the club in total, but only eight came this year after injury.

He scored two goals in total for the club. One last year in a 3-3 draw against Warrington Town, and this year he scored the winning goal in the Lincolnshire Cup Final against Spalding United.

Town finished 16th in the NPL East Division this season, just a point above the relegation play-offs after being relegated from the NPL Premier Division last year.

On his departure, Durrell said: “Even though this season didn’t go as planned, I wish the football club all the very best for the future and hope the club can return to the highest level of football as soon as possible.

“The football club is in good hands with the support of the superb fans, who have been great with me since I joined.

“I have no doubt positive times are coming!”
