Goalkeeper Calvin Hare finds new club after Prescot Cables exit
Vauxhall Motors have announced the signing of former Prescot Cables goalkeeper Calvin Hare.
Hare joined Cables from City of Liverpool in October 2024 and had been a mainstay ever since, featuring 54 times in all competitions for the club.
He scored a memorable last-gasp equaliser against Hyde United earlier this season in the FA Cup to force a replay.
However, his departure from the club alongside striker Ben Elliott was confirmed earlier this month.
He has since linked up with NPL West Division side Vauxhall, making his debut for the club in Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Runcorn Linnets.
That defeat saw Motors drop out of the play-off positions, although they remain within a point of the top five.
On the signing, manager Danny Holmes said: “When Calvin becomes available, you’ve got to ask the question.
"I approached him the summer but he expressed his loyalty to Prescot, but we left things on good terms and I think that helped.
“I don’t need to explain how good he is. He’s an unbelievable player and going to add to a great group.”
