Glynn wanting to kick on with Scarborough

Scarborough Athletic midfielder Kieran Glynn says Scarborough was the best club to kick on with his career.

The 22-year-old joined Darren Kelly’s side on a permanent deal after impressing on loan from Salford at the back end of the 2019/20 season.

Glynn, who previously featured for FC United of Manchester before joining Salford, has made six appearances so far this campaign.

“I’ve mentioned numerous times in the past how much I’m enjoying it at Scarborough,” he said.

“I was here at the back end of last season and I had a few offers for more money and clubs further up the pyramid, but I made my mind up as soon as I spoke to the gaffer.

“He got me back enjoying football last year and I thought this is the best place to kick on in my career.”

The Flamingo Land Stadium side currently sit 11th in the Premier Division table, recording three wins, two draws and three losses ahead of the second lockdown.

“Mid-table means it’s not been too bad a start but also not as well as it could have gone,” he said.

“We’ve had a lot of key injuries like Coulo and a suspension for myself so it’s been a bit chopped and changed at the start of the season but like I said it’s an okay start and hopefully when everyone’s fit and firing we can kick on.”

“Personally I believe we’ve got a good enough squad to be in and around the top end of the table.

“When it clicks in games then we’ve shown just how good a footballing side we can be.

“We’ve got the likes of Coulo and Carts up top who have shed loads of goals in them, the likes of Bish and Watto in midfield who have bags of experience and Guile and add that top the defensive side with the likes of Coatesy, Will, Baz, Ash and Dylan I think it’s an exciting time to be a Scarborough fan.”
